For our server we aim for a smooth and stable architecture and we try to avoid simspeed loss as strong as we can. Thats why the list of mods is very short and there is only one planet you will find. But trust me, we had the best and most exciting times in Space Engineers, when planets havent even been announced. Well, you can go ahead reading when you dont need 27 planets on a server.

To keep the game fun and exciting even after a long period, we are going for events and different roleplay mechanics such as a currency system and licensing. Roleplay means that you can basically do what you want. You can follow the rules but you dont have to. But in any case you have to live with the consequences ingame. People will define their roles with the actions they take.

To push those roleplay rules through, there will be a police faction [IPA, Interstellar Police Agency], played by real players. They will patrol through universe, investigate crimes, go for police raids and do all this stuff to avoid crimes. But if you have a nice hideout and strong ships, why care for rules? Be a pirate, produce ammo, sell it on your personal black market, just do what you want.

Lets talk about licensing. Licensing means that for some actions in game, you need a license. Otherwise, it is against the law and [IPA] will punish you if they take notice of your actions. Right now licensing is about producing ammunition and weapon slots.

I wont spoiler you what awaits you when you enter the server, but as we call it 'harsh survival' you wont be doing easy as you probably know it from other servers. Your inventory is small and refineries and assemblers are slow. On our server we decided you to spawn in space instead of spawning on a planet. You need much more skill to create a ship able to land and start off again from a planet than a simple rocket getting you off there.
