I have just left this server because of the nasty comments made by the server admin VGSKraken. I have also been having problems with connecting and rollbacks on the server, which I have put up with since that could have been Keens problems. However since VGSKraken made untrue comments about Doom I will not be coming back.
Fly safe all.
Not even going to give this reply the attention I should tbh.
Just one thing... What idiot jumps his ship AFTER the save and BEFORE the restart 2 minutes after and then blames the admins.
Here is the server code: Server is due to restart in 2 minutes and is now saving, anything between now and restart will not be saved.
You are a joke DOOM and definitely not welcome here.
Far too used to pasting your ships back in and abusing your admin rights on the server you supposedly were an admin on.
Learn to read and you wont be disappointed in the future.
Our server is saving every 5 minutes and displaying restart warnings every 30/15/5/2 minutes. If you cannot understand WHY you didn't get your grid back then that is not our problem.
If I or any other admin was as bad as you say/think then we would not have a large consistent player base and we definitely wouldn't have been running successfully for over 2 years.
I'm also unsure how you expect to have anything resolved by continuously calling the admins retards/morons/idiots. But I guess that's how you spoke to your players right?
This comment is out of order
SE is meant to be played as come and go not wait till you think its safe to do so or to put your life on hold waiting to see if your game is save.
as admin it is your job to fix problems with the game as best as you can given the stability problems of this game.
this means if the game has had a roll back then you need to address any complaints and fix them in a reasonable meaner.
the game is not fix so fix rules must be open to compromise.
please re think your policy and try to keep this professional as your ruining a business and players will not like being insulted with name calling
Nothing you said has anything to do with a player jumping AFTER a save and before the restart, It is a 2 minute window between save/restart. So please don't be stupid. We have a hell of a lot of happy players and there will always be salty players like yourselves who require special attention and hand holding.
This is not a "business" it is a game server.
Who called a player a name? We have been called morons/idiots/retards by your friend just because he is too stupid/spoonfed to understand.
Neither of you are irreplaceable so I don't see why you feel the need to assume we will lose players over this. There are many regular players that are glad to see you go because all you do is complain about GAME bugs that cannot be fixed by us or any other server.
Who is making money off of the server? The server is fully funded by donations. None of the admins use the donation money for anything other than Server/website costs, upgrades when needed/available and the occasional event prize.
But I guess you don't understand how that works right?
1. I was talking about the discord voice chat
2. I am not going through a very large chat log just to paste it onto a server list website.
If you want to continue this salty BS rant then you can message me directly. I'm not flooding this website with comments.
Yes. It's called a donation shop. The Module is literally called Donationcraft xD Not everyone wants to give €5/10/20 just to keep a server alive when there are more they could go to, but if they get something in return then it is worth their money. We are a registered Not for profit organisation all of our money in/out gets reviewed yearly where we must show invoices for server/website costs.
you are a business
the activity of buying and selling goods and services
you are buying a server and selling services for cash for in game privileges
please see http://valhallagamingsociety.com/SEShop for Shop items
you can not dispute this as this is your own web address
as for holding my had iv log over 5000hr on this game and have been in many a server and none of them have been as up there own as you seam to be please let go of my had so i can see you fall on your face with love ODjWizardO :) x
Well first of DOOM was an excellent admin, did he paste his ships in and out of server? Yes ofc he did he and like the other admin was very conscious on preserving the players base experience a good one so as such we tended not to keep our builds on server whilst not using them to help keep server performance up was this an abuse of power? Absolutely not.
Whilst talking about player experience, attacking your player base and taking a rigid stance on players losing the grids due to unforseen circumstances is not cool. Regardless of how you feel, when a player logs off and then logs on to find that the build he thought had been left in a position of safety is now gone as has the time invested into it. The first thing to ask yourself has it been raided? If yes sure that’s the nature if you run a pvp server you can lose your ship. If no then yes defo give it back, why ruin a players experience who clearly has lost a ship unintentionally whilst offline just too enforce your rules. That's a pretty shitty thing to do too a player and its not how I ran my server, In fact I'm fairly sure I have replaced your grid once or twice when you use to play on mine in similar circumstances.
Well he should not go to other servers expecting the same thing. If there is a clear message stating the server is saving and nothing after this point will be saved, then it is not our problem if they then jump there ship and log off during this time. He spoke to Dahlin about this and he explained it. He then moved onto rikku who said the same thing and explained it was Dahlins decision as he was the one dealing with it. He then decided to ask me the same thing and I said the exact same thing. As for "returning my ships"? I was on your server for less than a day with a friend and didn't lose/request a ship. We have a lot of players who need and receive help but in this instance Dahlin didn't agree that it was a server problem. We cannot be expected to return every grid that is deleted/destroyed by player error. As DOOM even stated "When i logged in 8 hours later the ship was still at the trade station"
So his ship was still on the server at the time, there is no way for us to verify what happened. All we know is he jumped AFTER the save logged off and then the server restarted 2 minutes later.
Thats kinda my point, no you cant always verify a players story sure maybe he did miss the warning, you and I both know how quickly a server msg can get burred in chat it happens. As an admin point of view all your seeing is he done fucked up not my problem. You're not looking at it from a players point of view which as an admin is supper important, if i logged in too find all my handwork gone poof I would be pretty dissapointed and then too be told by admin well no you cant have it back because you did this and missed a server save even though server clearly said this ...etc it dosen't change the fact the player has lost there ship in a manor they was not expecting. So now your dealing with this crap because, With his player experience ruined unsurprisingly hes pretty upset.....
Well unfortunately we have to have a boundary somewhere. I'm not going to over rule another admins decision, especially when I wasn't online at the time. Just like i am sure you wouldn't. There has to be a limit of what we replace and what we just consider player error and call it a day.
I'm unsure how our provider is ripping us off however? aha. We are getting an excellent deal for what we get.
Joined this server and asked for the coordinates of earth and so i complain its pretty far by saying "AAAAAAARGH why is earth so far away" in which i got told the coordinates and the the server admin "krakan" replies "so we dont get noobs crashing into it" I say that i have been playing the game for 3 years so im definatley not new to the game and so he looked at my profile to see how many hours i had played, it was 91 hours (he saw this as suspicious) so i told him i had got the game for free for a while from a place that wasn't steam long story short i call him an idiot so he calls me some un-creative name that i cant remember and cant be bothered to try and remember so we go through this argument and eventually he limits my ship speed to like 7m/s so i got angry i admit so called the server shit and in the end i just leave.
Do not join the server the Admin and some other players on there like "grizzly" are just cancerous i'm not saying this whole community is cancerous but in my short experience it was very cancerous.
This one made me laugh.
If you are going to write these comments at least make them true please.
I didn't say "so we dont get noobs crashing into it" Some one else did.
I jokingly stated you only played 90 hours over 3 years, you then get instantly defensive, calling me an idiot repeatedly for not knowing you'd illegally cracked the game for 2.5 years.
I get told you rammed another player which against the rules so I limit your speed to verify rather than instantly kicking you.
You then call the server "shit" purely because you thought it was lag/low sim speed even though we run at 1.00 with 20/20.
But of course we are the "cancerous" ones.
We appreciate all feedback for our server.
But this was explained to you prior to you posting this comment
Space Engineers updated and caused welding turrets to cause crashes, this was game wide and not specific to our server, the bug was fixed within the hour.
As to your "several hours" lost we have saves every 5 minutes, so you could have only lost a maximum of 5 minutes of work per crash.
There were approximately 5 crashes before the bug was fixed by a mod provided by Franky500.
Thank you for your feedback.
