Description
Embark on a journey to the outer realms of space!
Here you will experience true multiplayer survival the way it was meant to be in Space Engineers.
Every original game element is in place and expanded upon.
Once you have attained enough materials to make a starter craft, you can travel to other planets to dig up their unique valuable resources.
Or maybe you want to start out at the starter station and trade your way into obtaining your first spacecraft?
Perhaps you want to join the Pirates and take over planets and rich asteroids for their unique and valuable resources?
Maybe you just want to explore what is beyond the known galaxy and discover new planets.
All that and more, is possible in Outer Realms.
Some of the features include:
- Rare ore redistribution to specific planets
- NPC Encounters with custom loot tables
- Rich asteroid spawns
- NPC Faction Conflict PVP wars
- Planetary NPC Encounters depending on your reputation, including: Cargo shipments, Traveling merchants, Bounty hunters and more!
- NPC loot includes: large quantities of credits, zone chips, unique components and much more!
Gold, silver, magnesium, platinum and uranium have been depleted from asteroids and spread out across different planets in the universe (see planet maps below). This makes planet traveling, trading and exploration worthwhile.
Some planets are controlled by Pirates, others by the Alliance Factions (neutral trading factions). Any player that is hostile with the faction controlling the planet, will be attacked on its surface by NPC bounty hunters varying in numbers. Friendly and neutral players will encounter different NPCs, such as Traveling Merchants or Cargo Shipments.
Once in a while, an ultimate showdown between the two factions happens in the form of a planet invasion event between the contested planet and moon. The winning side of the faction event claims the new planet and its new faction rules will take effect immediately.
During this 2 hour event, players can gain reputation for either side by doing contracts or damaging waves of hostile NPCs at the Invasion Point located between the contested planet and its moon. The waves can spawn any NPCs on the server and can vary a lot in difficulty, it is recommended to participate with a group of players.
This unknown sector is not controlled by either the Alliance or Pirates, as it is too far away from the known galaxy for conventional purposes. Very little is known about this sector, but the exotic materials Beryllium and Deuterium can be found here.
